A1:
Reason: The zinc layer oxidizes in a humid environment, forming basic zinc carbonate (white rust).

Slight white rust: Wipe with a dry cloth and apply anti rust oil.
Severe white rust: Clean with dilute hydrochloric acid (5% concentration), immediately rinse with clean water and dry.
Preventive measures: Keep ventilated and dry during storage, and avoid outdoor stacking.
Q2: What should I do if the zinc layer falls off during the welding of galvanized pipes?

Reason: High temperature causes evaporation of the zinc layer (zinc boiling point 907 ºC).
